ARCHITECT: JOSEP LLUIS SERT (1964)

The Foundation Maeght, or Fondation Maeght, is a modern art museum on a hill, Colline des Gardettes, overlooking Saint-Paul de Vence.
Established by Marguerite and Aime Maeght in 1964, it is housed in an attractive contemporary complex of stone and concrete designed by Josep Lluis Sert.
Our visit was a nice quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the French Riviera.
Incidently, Maeght is supposedly pronounced like "Maig" with an "a" as in "made" and a hard "g" at the end...
